Summer's half over

And I am not ready for the school year to begin. We haven't had time to go to the beach, we have only gone for icecream a couple times. It seems like we just started the baseball season and it ended today!

When I was young, summer days stretched out before me like a string of blue and green jewels. It was so long, I couldn't see the end of it. Now, there are a couple weeks of baseball, some really steaming hot days and then the new shoes and school supplies are in Target.

We are expecting our son-in-law, Trevor, home from Iraq in the next 14-20 days. We are really looking forward to feeding him up! Sara and Haven have missed him terribly. He's earned some relaxation time with his family. I hope that the politicians pull the plug on the war. It's not doing anything to help our economy and it certainly is not solving any of the problems Iraq is facing.

Happy summer!
